Summer Expansion Project

Good News From the Peace Garden!

The Summer Expansion Project has been completed. This means that we have added two new garden plots and of course new plants. Additionally, we have finally purchased our rain barrel from the Millvale Borough. I would highly recommend the barrel. If you would like one for your own garden, check it out here: http://www.millvalepa.com/Rain-Barrels.aspx

Corn, beans, and peppers

along with beets, spinach, and peas have all been planted over the weekend. Now all we need is a little rain! When it's this dry, we appreciate if anyone can bring water for their own plants as well as any plants that look thirsty. I would like to thank everyone who has been endlessly hauling water to the garden over the past month. The work is really starting to pay off.

We are harvesting Swiss Chard, coriander, peppermint and ginger mint, basil, and a few remaining strawberries.

Please let me know if anyone has any comments or questions about Peace Garden Pgh or the Garden at 11th and Bingham. We have lots of fun in store for the summer. Keep in touch and thanks for all your help.
